12 months ago, we joined Live Life Build, a community that is on a mission to create a new building industry.
The Live Life Build (LLB) team do this by providing builders with the information, processes and systems to run better businesses, and in turn, are elevating the professionalism of the industry.
Last month, we made the trip over to Melbourne for the Live Life Build Annual Awards to catch up with the team and other community members.
Being one of the few Western Australian builders a part of this community, it was amazing to meet so many like-minded builders on the east-coast that are all pushing for a better industry by focusing their efforts on their own personal and professional development.
It was a fantastic celebration and unlike other industry events, these awards are deliberately different - it’s not about celebrating the big flashy homes or the multi million dollar projects; they were about recognising the outstanding efforts of builder members who are committed to elevating the professionalism of the residential construction industry.
At a time when industry sentiment and reputation is at an all time low, it’s incredibly important that we shine a light on the things that really matter when running a professional, sustainable building business.
These awards looked at businesses that:

🏆 Ensure their clients have an enjoyable project experience
🏆 Create great teams that consistently deliver high quality work
🏆 Have the right mindset to overcome the challenges and obstacles, and are committed to continuously improving
🏆 Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with designers, consultants and sub contractors to deliver great projects for clients
🏆 Deliver homes that stand the test of time
We were honoured to pick up two Highly Commended Awards, The Biggest Action Takers, and Showing Up, and be recognised for our efforts both within our business and contribution to the LLB community.

We have experienced massive shifts within both our personal lives and our business since implementing these processes, including our pre-construction process (which you can find out more here).
We are only just getting started and can’t wait to see what the next 12 months has in store
